I used to use tea tree oil liberally but have cut back drastically. It may disrupt the hormonal balance in men if used on the skin regularly. Using any essential oil in large doses to help clean your teeth may be risky.

Tea Tree Oil is a miracle cure for many things. My son had horrible, bleeding athlete's feet as a toddler that nothing would touch. Tea tree oil cured it within days. I kept it away with a few drops in his shoes every few days.
I use it for eczema, poison oak, cold sores, sinus infections & colds, drawer freshener, shoe freshener, bug repellent, acne, dry skin, shampoo, skin infections. . .
I am certain it would work against lice and other maladies also.

There is a lot more oils than tea tree, but this is the one that turned me into a convert. Now I'm studying therapeutic essential oils. Best source is Nature's Gift.

my personal all purpose cleaner uses tea tree oil. 1/3 spray bottle white vinegar, 2/3 water, few drops washing up liquid, and 30 drops or more of tea tree oil. shake and use. i use on counter tops, to clean sink, to spray down mattress when i wash sheets, to spray rooms for deodorizing, on carpets and on sofas to deoderize. kills musty odors, kills bacteria, kills sofa funk smells and after about 10-15 there is no smell left in room. no vinegar or tea tree oil.

chronic yeast infections are not normal and i have suffered with them. i am happy she has found a way to rid herself of them with the tea tree oil, but if that is all that is being done for the yeast infection there are probably dietary issues that are not being addressed. the easiest way to get rid of them for good and at the root of the issue is to eliminate as much sugar from diet, as well as daily yogurt consumption (the kind with bacteria in it). the constant influx of probiotics is good in your gut for so much, including boosting immune system. :)

"This stuff could put a huge dent in healthcare costs", that is the key reason that you don't hear about things like this from your primary, the work for the big pharma companies and they don't get paid if they don't prescribe their pills and other meds.

I used to get chronic yeast infections until I realized i was causing them by using scented detergents and bath soaps. It's not mormal to have "chronic " yi. You should tell her. I've been yi free since i started using fragrance free soaps.

I am challenged with chronic ear infections...so after almost quarterly trips to the doc for antibiotics and ear clearing...I decided to try one drop of pure tea tree oil in each ear, it was a warm sensation in my ear which soothed the chronic itchiness immediately, the next day there was a small "plug" like ball of wax evacuated from each ear. I also use it on my scalp for seb. dermatitis...

My best friend has had chronic yeast infections monthly her whole life. She now swears by putting a couple drops of tea tree oil on a tampon and wearing it overnight periodically. She says she's been infection free for about 8 months. Beats expensive and messy medicine.

I used it to get rid of a sinus infection, too! I soaked a Q-tip in the oil and then rubbed it on the inside of my nostrils (I know for some people their skin would be too sensitive to do this). This morning, I had icky discharge coming from my nose (gross, sorry), and now, hours later, it is gone!

I make a mask from ghassoul clay and water and add 1-2 drops of tea tree oil. You apply the mask and leave on for about 10 minutes then rinse off (do this in the shower... clay gets messy). The oil's antiseptic properties prevent breakouts. I do this about once a week.
(you can find ghassoul in middle-eastern shops in powder or chip form)

Tea Tree oil and wash are miracle workers....
If you have children (or not), it is GREAT for ringworm or any kind of skin infection. My son kept getting rw from school and prescription medication was not working, i was given tea tree oil for it from my friend at the health food store and it never returned...now i use it for EVERYTHING!

When removing mold from closet walls, spray with the tea tree oil and water when dry can I clean wall. Also spray on leather shoes okay or not.

My husband has suffered from horrible acne his whole life-- his entire face has been scarred by breakouts. For awhile, he was keeping it under control with expensive prescription meds, but they were very toxic (and out of our budget). On a whim, I bought some tea tree oil face wash (by Desert Essence) for him to try... 6 months later, he is still acne free, and no more expensive meds! this stuff is a miracle.

I add some to a bucket of boiling hot water to wash my floors down with. Works a treat, and the place smells great afterwards!

I work at a locally owned health food store. I've seen tea tree oil in shampoo, toothpaste, soap (I use Desert Essence's Castile Soap for both body cleaning and as a shampoo), mouthwash, a very good clay mask, disinfectant and of course the essential oil. I personally have used it on athlete's foot, and have seen it used sucessfully to treat dandruff (mine, and why I use it in a shampoo) and head lice (my sister's when she was about 6. My mother had bought a tea tree oil shampoo, and added a a few drops of the essential oil to each headful of suds).

I use tea tree oil on pimples and blemishes. Just dab a bit on in the morning and night and the spot(s) vanish in a day or two.
