About 70 years ago my grandparents would walk to the fountain everyday and bring water home. Then my parents had water at home, coming from the tap, what an evolution! And now my generation spends so many resources bringing water from the other side of the planet. No sense at all.

Why pick Fiji water, it's pathetic to ship water from a small pacific Island to the massive continent of North America. Why not bottle water in the US, there are enough springs etc there, it's just pathetic nonsense. Both sides of this argument need to grow up and stop being so reactionary. bottled water and tap water are exactly the same so get over it. this problem is just something else for people to worry about like all the new things being invented every day that is supposedly bad for you. but it is highly doublful that you are going to die from drinking water from either a tap or bottle. if you feel so strongly about drinking from and bottle than dont do it and visversa but its gonna take a lot of hard work to change the way others think about the same situation it is pretty difficult to get someone to change their ways after a set amount of time. so if you don't like bottled or tap then dont drink it. ITS JUST WATER. everyone has freewill so use it. and stop stressing so much. (it causes wrinkles)

bottled water and tap water are the same i dont understand all the "dangers" in water seriously its just water it is highly doubtful that US drinking water is going to kill anyone. You know what this is just another stupid problem for people to worry about for nothing just like all these new diseases and problems that people invent everyday. ITS JUST WATER!! drink it or dont its your choice but stop complaining there are many other things to drink in the world besides water so instead of complaining make a choice everyone has freewill

Pablo, I know your intentions are good. However, you fail to acknowledge the impact of bottled water on jobs and the well being of millions of people in the US, Fiji, France, Poland, etc. Employees of water companies world wide can provide shelter, food, education, etc. for themselves and their families. Additionally, they pay taxes which (in some cases) help others in their society by supporting sanitation, education, health care, etc. If you had your way, you would abolish bottled water and create economic anguish on an international basis. Wouldn't you time be better spent mentoring an underprivileged child, or working in a soup kitchen. You know, actually doing something to benefit your fellow man! Your efforts to calculate the csot of bottled water has not improved the condition of one human being or animal on this planet. Spend your time and energy actually doing something for someone.

You might want to check your calculations again and make sure you have the right units. (0.025kg / 1t/1000kg) x 8,000km does not equal 1.0 tkm. It would give you kg^2*km/t.
