I bought two of these. We always go to Starbuck's and I prefer the paper cups to the big clonky pot mugs. These were perfect. We took them along, got 20p off each cup because we brought our own and we were all happy.

Until it leaked all down my front.

Tried 'em twice and both cups leaked both times. Haven't had the heart or energy to send them back. Pity. They look nice though.

If you get them, Pam, I'd test them out before you try driving and drinking with them!!

No, you DO have to wash this cup out, Korean Avenger.

I agree that buying less is BEST, but this cup does fill a real need I have. Basically, I have wanted a stainless steel mug, but keep finding them with plastic tops. Urg. There's one with a stainless steel top, but then your teeth bump it when driving over potholes. So what have I done? Bought nothing, and kept using terrible disposable that the coffee shop gave me :( I know, I'm terrible.

So what's awesome about this is that the top is silicon. Also, I won't get as strange looks at the coffee shop--they will be much more willing to fill my cup if it looks "typical" and regular to them. And I can more easily convince others to go green with me around the office! Its a funny joke that might just attract some good attention.

I also agree with SWAG. We have enough reusable cups and mugs in the world. If companies did away with paper and plastic cups from their coffe rooms, it would make people bring their own from home. In Canada this has been the case for the past 10 years in many companies I've worked for.

I agree with swag. All this is doing is a snarky pat on the back for how clever the designers were at creating something that's theoretically more environmentally friendly than disposable stuff.

But this isn't made from recycled material, is it? Is any part of this cup, the lid, or the packaging in the least bit recycled? This is not being clever - this is ignoring the option of either making your own damned coffee, tea, or whatever and -gasp- carrying it yourself. Of course this would inconvenience you, and adding further insult to injury, you'd have to wash out and dry the cup yourself.

Who the Hell would want to go through that agita? Oh yeah - something about helping the environment, right? There are plenty of double-walled reusable travel cups, and some of them are even made from recycled materials already.

Or, better idea, if you really want to be a 'tree hugger': STOP BUYING CRAP! You create more pollutants in their manufacture and more landfill in their disposal.

We have more than enough existing cups to go around in our own homes if not second-hand stores.

Everyone at my work drinks coffee or tea! One wasted paper cup each time! and it's not even recycled! :-(

We have mugs, but no one uses them or cares... :-(

Silicone! Finally! I've been trying for ages to replace my plastic topped metal mug with something plastic free. This won't quite do the trick (my bus commute requires a "leak proof" mug), but at least somebody's getting the ball rolling.
